Still working on that hot first release.

Country rock from Ontario, Andrew Parkhouse leads a group of Magpies playing soulful ‘Wooden-Rock’. The group has been performing for a couple years playing around southern British Columbia at local venues. Andrew has taken time to create an abundance of original country rock songs and has been shaking clubs, bars, weddings, and private venues with his energetic band. Andrew has shared the stage with Tofu Stravinsky, Erica Dee and, Ash Grunwald. He has also been featured on numerous radio stations local and national. Andrew and his band are an active part of the music scene in BC and they have their eyes set on getting their music to you.

Birthed in the southern interior of British Columbia, the Magpies have been garnished with the rich culture of the Kootenays. While the band plays their acoustic fuelled rock, they rally up a dance floor jamboree pushed along by a foot stomping beat. The five piece band calls Nelson their stomping grounds and has been playing clubs, pubs, and weddings for three years in the area. Andrew Parkhouse is a clearly an entertainer on and off of the stage. Sporting his stoic beard, Parkhouse is backed by his plaid covered band that plays what they call, ‘Wooden Rock’.

Spontaneous and impulsive, Andrew Parkhouse is known for being the most entertaining man on stage. He brings his likeable small town Ontario feel, and it can be heard in the music he sings. Julia Cromarty is also a local Ontario girl. Jules is featured in most of the music the group plays and is a key writer supporting Andrew. Dylan Ferris is a shredding guitar player who's also a supporting vocalist and songwriter for the band. Dylan’s heavily influenced by country, blues and folk guitarists and has been playing since he was a child with his family folk band. Starting out on mandolin he’s got a lot to bring to the band. Holding down the low end is Ryder Sharpe on bass. Ryder has been playing for numerous years, has an amazing ear and is local to Vernon. Keeping the back beat is Calgary local Reginald Eddy. Reg has over ten years behind the kit and is a straight rock and roll kinda of guy. All of the Magpies and Andrew Parkhouse have post secondary education in music and are knowledgeable about all musical dynamics.

With an EP coming out at the End of January 2015 they plan on hitting the road and every gig and festival that BC has to offer.
