Bio

New Orleans guitarist Andrew Block has been making a name for himself since the mid 90's, when he began doing live gigs with his family at bars in West Palm Beach. It became evident at a very young age that music was his calling and he's been playin' around the clock ever since. Andrew honed his soulful style in the church, developing a passion for the groove/pocket style that gospel music deserves. After moving to Tallahassee, Florida, he was asked to join Full Black Out, a harmonica driven blues/rock band, with whom he toured and recorded with until 2007.

After forming two other bands, The Dirty Robots and The Eurosluts, with various Tallahassee musicians, he was called on by guitar virtuoso, Matt Grondin, to join Inca Maya. With Inca Maya he toured around the southeast U.S., playing festivals such as the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam, Wanee Festival, Bear Creek Music Festival, and others, as well as opening for the likes of Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, J.J. Grey and Mofro, Blues Travler, and more. In 2009, Andrew became a permanent citizen to the fabled city of music, New Orleans. He continues on his journey to play with and learn from some of the the best musicians in the world.

Andrew has had the opportunity to perform with:
Dumpstaphunk, Dr. Klaw, George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, Eric Krasno, Adam Deitch, Nigel Hall, Ian Neville, Marco Benevento, Robert Walter, Skerik, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Papa Grows Funk, The Honey Island Swamp Band, & The Chris Mule Band. He recently organized the Avis Berry Soul Revue, which featured soul singers Avis Berry and Maxi Wood, along with Tony Hall and Raymond Weber (Dumpstaphunk, Trey Anastasio Band), Nigel Hall, Sam Kinninger, and Ryan Zoidis (Soulive, Lettuce), Skerik, Kofi Burbridge (Derek Trucks Band), Jonathan Lloyd, and Trevor Brooks, which drew rave reviews after their debut at the 2009 Bear Creek Music Festival. A full length album is currently underway, with two of the tracks provided here.
