After spending the last twelve years honing his craft in the UK and traveling the world, Australian songwriter Andrew Burke returns to Sydney with a wealth of experience under his belt.
Though he possesses a distinctive style, Andrew's playing encompasses a wide range of musical genres. He is primarily rooted in acoustic blues and draws on the influence of the greats of the Mississippi Delta but his expansive palette also covers such diverse territory as country-inspired pop and crunching rock. This versatility has made him a well-respected figure on the international scene.
Having played alongside such acclaimed artists as The Wheels Of Fortune, The Mandarins, Apparition, Montana, Franc, The Rons, KYO and Patrick Carr, and supported artists such as Tommy Emmanuel and Killing Heidi, these days Andrew's focus is on his solo work. As well as performing around Sydney, he has just released a new EP 'Won't Be Long' (recorded in the lovely Byron 301 studio), which he describes as being more raucous, with a heavier influence on electric instrumentation and drums.
