The World Was Made From Sparks

Written By: Andrew Chamings

In the alley
Behind the factory
Walls so high the sun don’t shine

Up above you
Angels call you
Buy you can’t shout back in time

But I got nowhere else to be tonight
All those horrors that ain’t me tonight

Walking angels
Immigrant angels
It always looked so hard

All we do is
Sit and wait for
Our lazy little hearts

Girl you know the world was made from sparks
But don’t let those thoughts invade your heart

You never stopped walking
You never came home

Black Heel your words still make me feel alone

The waves still break
Into the bay
There’s no intro
There’s no refrain

I Can Only Hear the Wheels

Written By: Andrew Chamings

I can’t believe that it’s over now
I’m still waiting for the lights
We made it through six thousand miles
But left our hearts behind

We were standing on the corner in Northern California
Spinning on our heels for fun
Smokes between our fingers watch the light linger
And dream of falling in love

Your old lovers and friends are all alone
They sit still like you and spend the night so low
Think fast there’s a world out there you now
Take your chance you’re too young to grow old

It’s a long road down the coast
It’s a long road for sure
But don’t be san we’ll see the seaside
The cliffs and so much more

I can see your lips move
I can see you eyes shine bright
But I can only hear the wheels
Rolling along tonight

Your old lovers and friends are all alone
They sit still like you and spend the night so low
Think fast there’s a world out there you now
Take your chance you’re too young to grow old

Siberia

Written By: Andrew Chamings

I'd like, to take a train, to Siberia
Buy a wooden house by the lake
Play, by the fire, drink some wine
Forget about that other time
Train, ride a train, to Siberia
Burn some wood and watch the moon
Out there, on your own, all those blues
I know they'll move when I want them too

Lord, there's a movie in my mind
Of a place I lost, I can't turn it off
Friend, there's a village by the sea
There's another life for me

Typhoon, a Russian moon, I spoke too soon
Hurricanes won't wait for you
Back there, in the sleeping land, wild things come
Wake me up and take my hand

Lord, there's a movie in my mind
Of a place I lost, I can't turn it off
Friend, there's a city by the sea
There's another life for me

Creatures

Written By: Andrew Chamings

Angels, before me
Creatures, you floor me
I felt the world
It's something else

My cigarette, still burning
My little world, still turning
I watched her eyes
She couldn't hide

Wait for me while I catch my breath
We'll run together until there's nothing left

Man, I heard someone scream
I saw the storm hit the sea
You were there with me

Oh man, I saw your tired eyes
Through the soft sun-bleached sky
All we could do is try

People, so lonely
Come close, speak softly
Don;t tell the world
What we've heard

Our beating hearts, so slowly
Could change the world, so hold me
Come close to me, so silently

Every Lover

Written By: Andrew Chamings

You dropped your pen before you got to the end
Now you don't have a letter to send
You could send that photo of you next to her
In the garden, back when she cared

What a moment to break every promise she made
Nobody guessed until they saw her walk away

You had no money and you lost your home
But you found somebody who was also alone
Oh, life looks funny when you get so close
Everybody thinks they hurt the most

What a morning to have to change your plans
The sun's too pretty to try not to look sad

You close your eyes but can't remember her face
So you tell your heart you're in a better place
Every lover has a lonely history
When I saw her I hoped that she'd missed me

What a city to drag your young heart through
What were the chances that I'd be here with you
What a pity I think the way I do
Today's so pretty I just don't know what to do
