Bio
Andrew Higgs is a Melbourne based musician, currently performing as a solo artist. Playing his own blend of rock, roots, and blues, Andrew regularly tours the country to an ever growing fan base with his acoustic guitar, powerful vocals, harp and stomp box.
As a noted lead guitarist, Andrew has toured nationally and internationally in many bands over his 9 year career. Namely, American outfit August Falls and Aussie bands Seeds of Babylon and Sandcastle Harum. Supports include: Kate Ceberano, The Living End, Magic Dirt, the Beautiful Girls, Vanessa Amorossi, TZU, Bomba and more recently Ian Moss.
Higgs went solo in 2005 and within six months was named “most popular male solo artist” at the 2005 SAMIA awards. Andrew was part of another SAMIA award for “best album” with Seeds of Babylon in 2004.
Most recently Andrew has been touring Australia wide in support of his 2007 debut solo album “Certitude”. Andrew has just completed his 4th tour of 2008 with a 21 date July (08) tour from coast to coast including supports with Aussie rock legend Ian Moss around N.S.W.
Andrew is about to embark on his next studio release entitled “Stomp”, due November 2008.
