Bio

The love and mystery of hundreds of years of songwriting, revisited. The catalog of songs that the Celtic culture has produced over its many hundred-year history is the stuff of legend. This is the base of Andrew's music, breathing new vitality and putting a new spin on traditional Celtic songbook. Coming from Cape Breton Island, Andrew has also been fortunate enough to spend all of his 23 years surrounded by not only the best traditional music in the world but some of the worlds best song writers and this all shines through in Andrews traditional arrangements and original compositions. While singing is Andrew's passion and what he studied at Saint Francis Xavier University ,he also plays Mandolin, bass and banjo and has shared a stage with some of the islands best up and coming artists, including Jason Macdonald, Colin Grant Eric Angus Whyte and Jennifer Roland. For the last 4 years Andrew has had the privilege of being a part of Lyrics and Laughter at the Louisbourg Playhouse (www.lyricsandlaughter.com) The group this year released their first self titled cd from which some of the songs available here have been taken. He has also just this month finished recording some tracks with Cape Breton fiddler Colin Grant for his upcoming debut cd. Andrew also plays in Something About Angus the Cape Breton Fiddle-Funk fusion group (www.myspace.com/somethingaboutangus) and the group is currently finishing up its debut demo.
