Bio

Formed in early 2006 in Clarksville, Ar...this group of young musicians have literally arrived out of nowhere and yet they have claimed their stake in the local metal scene. The band started as a 3-piece outfit with: Zac Archuletta-Vocals, Winston Monroe-Vocals, and Michael Riggio-Drums. They recruited Justin Bradley-guitarist and began working on some powerful music together. The group wrote four songs and Michael Riggio was forced to switch his efforts to writing music and they brought Dylan Rylee-Drums (ex-Ashes of Augistine member) on board. After a short stint with ATAWS, Dylan decided to focus on family, and Gunner "Gunz" Floyd took his seat on the drum throne. Immediately after Gunner joined, Winston Monroe was badly injured in a nearly fatal car accident which left him struggling to recover. With the addition of Zac "Snack" Coker on Bass and Terrell Flurry on Guitar, the line-up was stronger and more complete. After Winston's wreck, the outlook of the band was forever changed and the band collectively changed the message they wanted to purvey to their fans. After that, ATAWS began to gain momentum in their heavy-driving music, powerful stage performance and positive message by blending elements of hardcore, screamo, and just good old fashioned metal. Their sound is too unique to label. From pummeling double bass and slow chugging breakdowns to catchy hooks and melodic harmonies this band covers all shades of the musical spectrum. With so many musical influences from Boston and Dallas Green to Bring Me The Horizon and Unearth, their songs each take a direction completely different from the one written before it. The band is constantly evolving musically so there is always new riffs on the drawing board and thoughts being transormed into songs. These five musicians are using their diverse tastes in music to create a sound all-their-own. From at first practing in a 8 x 10 storage unit until now, playing some of the south's more known venues, these boys are sharing the love they have for making music with a growing number of fans. One of the goals of the angels is to provide a strong, positive influence for the young local demographic. They have played numerous fundraising concerts to help spread awareness on such issues as cancer and the state of our local economy by helping fans realize that poverty and hunger are in our own backyard, and that we as a group can do something to help.
