Since the tender age of 7, Andy has dedicated his life to music, and plays his own remarkable originals and classic rock songs on his nylon-string classical guitar, and sounds like Mark Knopler, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and John Lennon having a musical conversation on Friday Night.

Biography

Andy, who lives in New York City, started playing guitar aged 7, when the guitar was bigger than him. He gave his first Classical Guitar recital aged 12, and went on to study at The Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK, receiving master-classes with guitar legend John Williams.
"John was amazing, besides his legendary talent he always encouraged us students to do something new with the classical guitar...."

Student years in Manchester infused in Andy the urge to compose. He played many different guitar concerts, including the Royal Opera company's production of 'Othello', and Rodrigo's 'Concierto de Aranuez' with full orchestra. At college Andy formed a duo with fellow guitar student Paul Dwyer, and they started gigging and performing their music all over the UK. A deal with a local agent sent them to play in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dubai, Cyprus and Turkey.

During the 90’s, they made a deal with Sony Music in Europe, and released 2 albums as “The Graduates” producing 3 radio hits and a national tour in Germany with American Folk Singer Suzanne Vega.

Istanbul, the Pearl of the Orient, made such an impact on Andy & Paul, they decided to stay, and lived for several years in Turkey, both as performers and working in collaboration as arrangers and writers with other artists. In 1996, they became the 1st English duo to release an album singing original self-penned songs in Turkish, and became a household name as EndiPoL in Turkey, with their own TV show, and reviews in Billboard magazine and National Press.

Paul remained in Turkey and set up his own top class recording studio and Music Company, producing countless jingles for Radio and TV all over Europe, Film Music, Documentaries and albums with various local artists.

Andy is now based in NYC, performing and recording both solo and with his NY musician friends, and writing even more fervently than ever! Artist friends he has either recorded with or performed with include Phil Cimino, Joey DeGraw, Gavin DeGraw, Chris Barron, Joss Stone, Cary Scope, John Pahmer, Jon Loyd, Benny Landa, Drew Mortimer, Colin Smith, Michael Brunnock, and Jon Fritz. Andy often travels to perform in different parts of the US and abroad, presenting his highly distinctive sound and song collection to music lovers everywhere.

Andy’s latest project is 13 mini Cds, featuring 2-3 originals and one magical cover song, to be released digitally through CDBaby on the 13th of each month, starting Nov 13th, 2010. Enjoy the music!

Just hangin' Out

Written By: Andy Clayburn

I don’t mind too much if I miss the plane,
An’ I don’t have a master-plan to fry my brain,
Today is cancelled, Tomorrow I don’t know, it al depends,
I’m just hangin’ out with some o’ my friends

I ain’t contemplatin’ much at all,
Don’t be offended if I don’t answer your telephone call,
I need some time, sweet relief, to hell with the trends,
I’m just hangin’ out with some o’ my friends

All kinds of weather, you gotta take the smooth with the rough,
Some cheap, red wine will do just fine and you’re all mine in the Summertime,
I got no plans, I got no worries, I got no itches I can’t reach,
Hangin’ out with my friends down on the beach.....

So let it rain cats and dogs, let it shine,
You only live once, so do it right! Get in some quality time,
Today is cancelled, Tomorrow I don’t know, it all depends,
I’m just hangin’ out with some o’ my friends

All kinds of weather, you gotta take the smooth with the rough,
Some cheap, red wine will do just fine and you’re all mine in the Summertime,
I got no plans, I got no worries, I got no itches I can’t reach,
Hangin’ out with my friends down on the beach.....

So I don’t mind too much if I miss the plane,
An’ I don’t have a master-plan to fry my brain,
I got a big, wide, open road ahead, no hair-pin bends,
I’m just hangin’ out,
We’re just hangin’ out!
I’m just hangin’ out with some of my friends.....

Angel of the Storm

Written By: Andy Clayburn

Where did you go my love?
Where have you been so long?
I’d climb the mountains,
I’d swim across the sea
For you, for you

Where did you go, my love?
Oh how I missed those beautiful eyes,
I’d climb the mountains,
I’d swim the deep, blue sea
For you, for you

I’m gonna kiss your face again,
My angel of the storm,
I’ll be waiting,
I’ll be waiting here for you,
All the times I’ve cried,
Tears rolling down like broken raindrops....

Run to the hills and hide,
Got this guitar, and your brave, little heart inside,
I’d climb the mountains,
I’d swim across the seas
For you, for you....

I’m gonna kiss your face again,
My angel of the storm,
I’ll be waiting,
I’ll be waiting here for you,
All the times I’ve cried,
Tears rolling down like broken raindrops....

I’d climb the mountains,
I’d swim the deep, blue sea
For you, for you

I’m gonna kiss your face again,
My angel of the storm,
I’ll be waiting,
I’ll be waiting here for you,
All the times I’ve cried,
Tears rolling down upon my shore,
A thousand years and more...
That’s how long I’ll wait for you
