"full of genuine feeling and sly wit"

”I could say I hear echoes of Mark Knopfler, John Lennon, Elvis Costello in his music – and I do – but that would be unfair praise, because he has his own sound – original, sympatico. He’s an extraordinary musician, a superb guitarist and vocalist, but what impresses me are his lyrics, full of genuine feeling and sly wit ” - Rex Roberts, Film Journal International, New York City.

Bio

Andy, who lives in New York City, started playing guitar aged 7, when the guitar was bigger than him. He gave his first Classical Guitar recital aged 12, and went on to study at The Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK, receiving master-classes with guitar legend John Williams.
"John was amazing, besides his legendary talent he always encouraged us students to do something new with the classical guitar...."

Student years in Manchester infused in Andy the urge to compose. He played many different guitar concerts, including the Royal Opera company's production of 'Othello', and Rodrigo's 'Concierto de Aranuez' with full orchestra. At college Andy formed a duo with fellow guitar student Paul Dwyer, and they started gigging and performing their music all over the UK. A deal with a local agent sent them to play in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dubai, Cyprus and Turkey.

During the 90’s, they made a deal with Sony Music in Europe, and released 2 albums as “The Graduates” producing 3 radio hits and a national tour in Germany with American Folk Singer Suzanne Vega.

Istanbul, the Pearl of the Orient, made such an impact on Andy & Paul, they decided to stay, and lived for several years in Turkey, both as performers and working in collaboration as arrangers and writers with other artists. In 1996, they became the 1st English duo to release an album singing original self-penned songs in Turkish, and became a household name as EndiPoL in Turkey, with their own TV show, and reviews in Billboard magazine and National Press.

Paul remained in Turkey and set up his own top class recording studio and Music Company, producing countless jingles for Radio and TV all over Europe, Film Music, Documentaries and albums with various local artists.

Andy is now based in NYC, performing and recording both solo and with his NY musician friends, and writing even more fervently than ever! Artist friends he has either recorded with or performed with include Phil Cimino, Joey DeGraw, Gavin DeGraw, Chris Barron, Joss Stone, Cary Scope, John Pahmer, Jon Loyd, Benny Landa, Drew Mortimer, Colin Smith, Michael Brunnock, and Jon Fritz. Andy often travels to perform in different parts of the US and abroad, presenting his highly distinctive sound and song collection to music lovers everywhere.

Andy’s latest project is 13 mini Cds, featuring 2-3 originals and one magical cover song, to be released digitally through CDBaby on the 13th of each month, starting Nov 13th, 2010. Enjoy the music!
