Radio 1’s Tom Deacon has compared Doonan’s compelling voice to that of Bon Jovi. Combining this with an intimate acoustic sound and alternative influences results in a powerful performance made up of honest, heartfelt songs.

Gigging relentlessly with high profile acts such as Toploader, The Hoosiers, The Charlatans, The Staves, Hue and Cry, The Twang, Jon Allen, Peter Grant, Brian Houston, and appearing at the London O2 Arena over the last year, has seen him begin to make waves on the music scene.

The singer, guitarist and pianist has previously received positive reviews from Radio1, Kerrang!, BBC Introducing and various magazines. Following the 2011 release of his debut album Lights and Mirrors recorded by the Pigeon Detectives producer Andy Hawkins, Doonan has been aired on Tom Robinson’s BBC Radio 6 Music and has had regular features and sessions on local BBC Introducing radio shows.

His new material sees an independent artist going his own way, after turning down The Voice UK who scouted him to compete in this year's TV series. He is set to release new EP Sky on Fire in 2013
