Bio

Andy Duguid is a well revered DJ/producer, hailing from New Pitsligo in Aberdeenshire. Andy’s career took off in 2006 when his production ‘Hypocrisy’ was picked up by the mighty Tiesto. on from Tiesto’s recognition came the support of other elite DJ names Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk. This resulted instantly in an exclusive deal with Black Hole Recordings.

The official follow up to ‘Hypocrisy’, came in the form of the dreamy number ‘Dont Belong’. This vocal production gained support from his peers once again, dubbing it as one of the stand-out tracks of 2007. It was initially signed to Black Hole for the world renowned compilation series ‘In Search of Sunrise’ by label owner Tiesto. Subsequently Black Hole decided to release it as a standalone single.

After this massive success Andy didn’t waste any time in releasing arguably his most know hit to date ‘Wasted’. This has helped him become the respected artist he is today, firmly cementing his place in the trance and progressive scene.

As a result of all his successes, Andy has become a high in demand when it comes to remixes. He has worked on remixes for the likes of Cosmic Gate, Oceanlab and Tiesto on labels Anjunabeats, Maelstrom and Black Hole Recordings.

Andy’s 2008 resulted in him realising a lifelong dream to release his very own artist album titled ‘Believe’. The quality of his work was reflected in the names he collaborated with throughout the album from Julie Thompson, Leah and Solarstone the most notable. The icing on the cake was the 5 star write up from DJMag, arguably the worlds largest dance music publication.

In 2010 Andy’s name as a DJ was to take a huge step with the release of the brand new mix compilation series, “Miracle Moments”. The double CD showcases Andy’s mixing talents with his artistic flare which creates a 2 hour long masterpiece spread over 2 discs. Reviews around the world held the album in high regard and Andy’s fan base grew to another level.

Andy also complements his productions with a weekly DJ radio showcase each and every Tuesday night on ‘Digitally Imported’ FM titled ‘After Dark Sessions’.

In springtime 2011, Andy decided to embark on a new journey launching his own record label ‘After Dark Music’. The vision for his label is to deliver a refined crop of high quality EDM productions. The artists who have to date are Andy himself, Aimoon, Ruby & Tony, Michael Badal and Not Okay.

In 2012 we have seen latest single ‘Music Box’ recognised by fans across the globe via online Trance Podium forum when it gained ‘Track of the Month’. Whilst also confirming that Andy is in the latter stages of his second artist album.
