"Miles Of Horizon - Andy Gerome"

REVIEW: "Andy Gerome apeared on a live radio interview on Friday, July 30th in Cleveland, Ohio (Cleveland State University,
WCSB 89.3) a jazz fusion show with Randy Allar. Allars show is one of the top shows in the country for exposing new and
established instrumental acts to a whole new set of listeners. You can catch Allars weekly broadcast every Friday on the

"Guitarist Andy Gerome & "Miles Of Horizon" solo release"

REVIEW: Top notch guitar skills, crisp production and superior backing musicians mark this heavy, guitar-driven rock. Unlike many instrumental musicians, Gerome focuses on his guitar and doesn't let drum machines or synthesizers cloud his playing.-;Jesse Terry;(Dec. Listen.com). Bio

Written by: David Oldham c/o WQFS 90.9 FM : Artist: Andy Gerome and music cd: "Miles Of Horizon" Andy Gerome resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Originally from the rock capital Cleveland, Ohio where he joined "Melanie", the acoustic artist made famous from Woodstock festival (Candles In The Rain, Beautiful People, Brand New Key), ... and then ledgendary group Savoy Brown guitarist, Kim Simmonds, for 2 years ('83-'85) and toured throughout the USA and Canada. After relocating to Los Angeles, Andy went to work as a guitar tech for Madonna in 1987 under Eric Barret (Jimi Hendrix guitar tech). Later, his focus was directed back towards his own solo career, as a songwriter and guitarist/vocalist. While living in LA, he performed in major label record showcases with musicians from Stevie Ray Vaughn, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Pauil Young, Jennifer Batten, Three Dog Night and Peter Townsend, as well as recording sessions for almost 10 years as a guitarist and vocalist. Andy, was also the vocalist in the Pierce Brosnan film "Entangled", where he sang for 3 minutes on this feature film of the month on HBO and Cinemax, and was later released on dvd. Andy then relocated to Nashville, Tennessee towards the end of 1994 where he pursued the art of audio engineering and recording. Since relocating to Nashville and it's thriving recording studio scene, Andy has recorded many popular artists such as Michael McDonald (Doobie Bros), Dobie Gray (multi platnium songwriter and hit '70's artist), Phil Vasar (country hit artist for EMI), Jeff Bridges (world reknowned actor and artist). In 2000, Andy returned to pursue his own solo efforts. Releasing his own instrumental disc appropriately titled, "Miles Of Horizon" on the Town Hall Music label, the disc is available at guitar9.com. Andy has recorded a 2nd disc that will be released later in 2010. He performs regularly in Nashville, Tn. with plans to head into Europe. The following are just a few reviews, on Andy Gerome and "Miles Of Horizon": Editorial Reviews The Free Times; "The album features 10 instrumental rock guitar tracks in the tradition of Eric Johnson or Joe Satriani; hard rock on one hand, Wave-like on the other; John C.Bruening;". Album Description "Miles Of Horizon" is Andy Gerome's solo debut CD, featuring 10 impressive instrumental rock cuts, blues licks, renegade jazz moments and high-energy riffage. Great advanced melodic sense and production. Customer Reviews BRILLIANT MELODIOUS METAL. Reviewer: HANS D HARMS (see more about me) from runaway bay, QLD Australia In the vain of SATRIANI / VI or HOEY, this is one hell of a CD. If you like any of the above, you should enjoy this. The playing is a little more restrained when compared to SATCH or VI but GEROME writes melodies that are far supirior to most in this genre. HOEY / KEAGGY and TIMMONS are the only virtuosos that can write catchy hooks and heart warming melodies like this. GEROME has all the chops but has an uncanny ear for composition and most of the songs on this CD are ear worms that you will find yourself humming before to long. It also gets better on each listen and some of the more complex passages will take some time to appreciate. If you like the guitar you will like this. Plus the fact that you can play it to fellow guitar nuts and watch their jaws hit the floor with the screech 'WHO THE F.... IS THIS'
