I have been playing guitar for about 3 ½ years and taking lessons for 2 years. Instrumental blues and classic rock are my main genres of music when playing solo performances. Currently, I play using backing tracks, but I hope to find a band needing a guitar player in the near future.
I have been a part of the band program at North Marshall Middle School for 3 years, playing drum set and lead guitar. While in middle school, I played classic rock guitar solos in talent showcases. In the summer of 2008, I performed several times at Kentucky Shores Family Fun Center in Draffenville. I will be performing at Kentucky Shores again this summer.
As an eight grade student this past year, I played lead guitar with the Marshall County High School Pep Band and the MCHS Jazz Combo. I was also honored with the opportunity to perform at a benefit talent showcase for the Marshall County Exceptional School held at The Kentucky Opry in Draffenville. Earlier this year, I joined a few other talented musicians to play as a ska band, called Engaging 6 & 7, in a parade celebrating the opening of the new Marshall County Hospital as well as during Relay for Life. I also play for birthday parties and other private gatherings.
On June 20 of this year, I received the 1st place trophy in the 12-17 age division of the Freedom Festival Amateur Talent Competition held in Evansville, Indiana. This summer, I am performing during the Downtown After Dinner program on Saturday evenings in Paducah and will be appearing there throughout the season.
I will be continuing my musical education in high school this fall by being a part of the MCHS Marching Band, Pep Band and Jazz Combo again this year.
