Andy Oliver

Andy is a folk singer songwriter, a film composer an actor and a recovering alcoholic. It seems strange to list that among his abilities, but Andy's life transformed when he eventually confronted his addiction. Music became his means of escape and also a great therapist in helping him recover. The initial songs he penned where driven by his ordeal and the people who helped him through and he was amazed at the success of the songs on listeners. 
His songwriting has been compared to Don Mclean, Simon and Garfunkel and Leonard Cohen and he has received praise from Don Mclean and former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Jeremy Spencer, with whom he recorded an album last year. He has had songs in iTunes top 20 and has topped the Reverbnation folk charts in the UK and broke the top ten globally, so its fair to say his music has a wide ranging appeal, with its heartfelt lyrical content and haunting vocals. Andy has performed at some of the UK's top venues and was the first Lancashire based folk artist to play the prestigious Berlin Music Week.  In the last two years Andy has also scored two complete feature films one of which ended up with him opening the Cinema Diverse Festival  Palm Springs, by playing a selection of songs featured in the Film. His new material is much more reflective about getting to a point in life and still has echoes of his past running through.
