i've been in a band since i was in sixth grade. like lots of people i jumped around in genres but i finally found my niche. i was tired of playing in punk rock bands so i picked up an acoustic guitar. from then on i was dedicated to writing my own songs the way i wanted. i enjoyed having control of creativity and song structure. i'm always writing and i'm always trying to improve. unlike lots of bands that only have one genre, i contain many. all of my music is rooted in acoustic guitar. i encorporate jazz, pop, and rock into my music. writing and performing is what i love to do. some of my influences include The Spill Canvas, Jason Mraz, The Graham Colton Band, and The Goo Goo Dolls. i really feel that i've got something to say to everybody listening to pop music. i really like the melodic qualities of pop music but i don't think that it should be limited to average, boring, pop lyrics. i feel that just because something is simple, it doesn't mean it has to have a simple message. all of my songs are related to my life's experiences and appeal to a wide range of audiences. i think the key to writing good songs is being able to take almost everything away from it and still have the feeling. that's why i write all of my songs on either an acoustic guitar and sometimes a piano. they sound great with a full band but it can also just be me, and the song/feelings are still there
