"Andy Venture Lets U Know"

The ode to a woman. The invocation of a wine. The very very Trini tenor of Venture's voice. "Let U Know" is undeniably fresh. And its creator is bent on making his brand of freshness far more familiar. Fresh to hear. - Sunday Express

Bio

MC Andy Venture has emerged from headspins to lyrical acrobatics. As a teenager Venture was a b-boy, being an avid fan of hip hop and culture. This eclectic performer is a visual artist/ storyteller who lyrically conjures images of contemporary West Indian life on all levels, like a sort of island news channel. He touches on most topics, love, club life, money, and society in general, pasted on a collage of urban island hip hop/dancehall/soca.

Inspired by the increasing emergence of Trinidad artists, Venture migrated to the indigenous genre known as Rapso in the early 90's, considered by many to be the "rap of calypso". He "cut his teeth" with a socially conscious track entitled "I Don't Feel To Cry" at the 1997 Rapso Fest, which won the favour of the more popular rapso exponents Brother Resistance, Kindred and Ozy Merrique Jr. (now Ozy Majic).

While studying Visual Art and Design at the University of the West Indies, he enjoyed spirited public response and media attention in 1999 and 2000 when he initiated "The Honey and Lime Tour". This joint art and music project, served as a launch pad for emerging, cutting-edge artists such as himself, setting ablaze social hotspots across the land.

From this experience, Venture was moved to dig deep and churn out underground hits such as the somewhat angry yet pertinent crime drama "T.E.E.F.= Total Extent of Extreme Folly", the mellowed-out "Tropical Relaxation", and "Moneymaker!".

In 2007, Andy Venture released ''Let U Know'', a "groove'' soca track, the video for which enjoyed heavy rotation on local and regional television stations. He is poised to release his full length album, "THE REMEDY" early in 2008.

With the emphasis on the word 'venture' in his name which basically means dare (to go), this artist injects smooth poetic flows as well as powerful militant styling to your earspace. Employing Trinidad vernacular as the exclamation point in the mix, linking oral traditions such as rap, dancehall, reggae, calypso and soca, plus vibes to make you dance, Andy Venture is determined to show and prove, and so appeal to many in his musical journey.

His musical influences are: A Tribe Called Quest, KRS ONE, The Mighty Sparrow, Pubilc Enemy, Supercat, Lord Nelson, and Prince
