Bio

A New Effect, formed like many bands; friends from school all with a common love and passion for music. Their journey began in early 2005 and they quickly realized that they had a strong writing team in guitarist Taylor Baldridge and vocalist Phillip Zettler. They recorded their first song "Everything", soon after their inception, in the summer of 2005 at Atlanta's prestigious Tree Sound Studios with producer Kenneth Mount (ZK Productions, Cartel,The Less,All Time Low, Driving East). Bringing in the other half of ZK Productions, Zack Odom, they followed up by recording the song "Effected," in early 2006. While in the studio friends were made and valuable advice was given by Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose and Alterbridge guitarist Mark Tremonti, who both took a shine to the band. A New Effect went on to play shows in the greater Atlanta and Athens area throughout 2006 & 2007. Playing at venues such as the Masquerade, Sweetwater Live, Lubys, Club 29, Breakers Music Hall, Benefits for Toys4Tots w/ Atlanta radio station 99X, and Athen's Venues the Library & the 40WATT Club. During this time the band received airplay on Atlanta radio station 96.1 on "Project Homegrown" and 99X's "Sunday School" and again on"Locals Lounge".
The band was gaining momentum, then due to the exit of bass player Chris Sherwood, A New Effect was forced to take a nine month hiatus to find the right replacement to compliment their line up. Though the band could not play live shows they continued to write and add to their growing catalog of original music. In the spring of 2008 the band was again complete with the addition of the amazing talents of bassist Scott Williams. Now ready to reveal the months of hard work done on hiatus, A New Effect is poised and ready unveil their latest and best material to date. Their magnetic stage show is capturing audiences of all ages with electrifying performances from all members. This young band is a band already on the industry radar and is one to watch in the coming years.
