Well if this is where I'm supposed to brag on my singing abilities, I'm out of luck!! ; ) I've always felt that music is this common denominator among people from all backgrounds and walks of life. -Take a look around a church on any given Sunday, or look around the ball field the next time the National Anthem is being played! As such, I think a song reaches its highest potential only after having many hands in the cookie jar! What may start out as just a simple story on my own pallet can really be made into something great -something that binds folks together, with the right composer, performer and producer. This is not a cop-out to say I can't write a good tune all on my own, I'm just simply saying that I'd love to see how great one of my own songs could become given the right influences, after some tweeking by a great singer and mucisian! My own personal influences include a pretty broad range since I personally just love music in many genres, but I'd have to say growing up a "country girl" so to speak that I primarily identify with the country genre. I grew up listening to The Judds, Patty Loveless, Hank Jr, KT Oslen, Garth Brooks, Alabama and Keith Whitley to name a small few. I currently live less than 100 miles from Nashville, TN and I'd love to hook up with some other songwriters to bounce ideas off of or even co-write with, and I have several great songs in need of a great artist!
