Angel Cage

Angel Cage

Add a pinch of Pixies, a dash of PJ Harvey, guitars and drums that will take out your fillings and you're only halfway there. Essential Alt/Metal.

Angel Cage were formed from the ashes of Angel Interceptor in 1994.

The quintet were quickly signed to London's Org Records and released the classic Boxtrimmer EP.

Boxtrimmer was an instant success, primarily because of the explosive and acid-tongued lead track 'Princess Die', reaching high in the indie charts and spending over sixteen weeks on the NME playlist in 1995.

'Princess Die' also became an indie radio hit on XFM that year too, while also being played on the national station Radio 1.

They released their debut album, Sophie Magic, that same year and toured with such indie luminaries as Pop Will Eat Itself, Terrorvision and the New Fast Autmatic Daffodils and played around London with Cardiacs among others.

Angel Cage split in 1996, disappearing into the ether as soon as they arrived, never really fulfilling their undeniably massive potential.

Now they're back and about to record a new album in Austin, Texas and it's looking good for a possible release later in 2006.
