Bio
Classy yet street savvy, outrageous yet reserved, Angélique Cinélu, the daughter of legendary French percussionist Mino Cinélu, has come of age almost overnight. In no time, Angélique has become an accomplished singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and model. From starring in Darrin Henson's play Dreams Do Travel, to headlining with the likes of Heather Headley and Akon, Angéliques original flavor and captivating stage presence has received rave reviews at several key industry tastemaker events like the Mix Show Power Summit, Urban Network, the SUMC Conference, the Living Legends gala, and the Women Who Jam Tour. She was also recently selected to perform at the prestigious 11th Annual Multicultural Prism Awards.
Though you'll see her face on the face on the covers of several well-known health and beauty publications, Angélique is most proud of her work writing and recording her first album. She is working with award-winning composer and writer Curtis A. Richardson, producers D-Moet (Nas), Arun Pandian, Swedens Jimmy Ledrac, the UKs Johnny Douglas, the Baka Boyz, and finally with the multi-platinum hit maker JR Rotem (50 Cent, Rihanna, Lil Kim, Mya, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Dr Dre ).
With her visual lyrics and sultry yet powerful vocals, Angelique has created her own distinct sound, urban fusion. Her sound is rooted in Hip-Hop and Pop, with influences of R&B and Jazz with a sprinkle of French. Her first single Excuse Me is currently airing on the Noahs Ark television show on the Logo Network, and has been spinning on major radio stations like WWPR-New York, WPEG-Charlotte, and WWWZ- Charleston.
Another song, Your Love, has been airing on the nationally syndicated Soul Lounge radio program heard in over 20 cities. With her infectious melodies and vibrant smile, Angélique is the young, spunky, adorable girl next door, with street sensibility, and European refinement. Theres no doubt her sound and image will blur the musical genre lines and go beyond cultural and geographic boundaries. "She is poised to be one of the next big entertainment brands worldwide. Every time I see Angélique, she impresses me more, says Clear Channel VP Doc Wynter.
