Angelique Francis is a singer song writer, composer and multi instrumentalist (including Piano, Drums, Key board, Harmonica, Upright Bass, Acoustic guitar, electric guitar and the electric Bass) Angelique is a versatile and exceptionally gifted young musician with talent that is way beyond her years. She has an insatiable appetite for many different kinds of music, and is known for her eclectic mix of various musical genres including Jazz, Blues, R&B, Soul, folk, Rock, and reggae.

Biography

Angelique Francis is a versatile and exceptionally gifted young musician with talent that is way beyond her years. This multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist, singer song writer and composer has played some of the biggest venues across Canada and the USA.  Angelique first took to the stage at age 7 and made her American national television debut at age 13 on the Oprah Network, for writing and composing an original theme song for the Gayle King show. Angelique has wowed audiences across the globe with her stage presence, instrumentals, song writing abilities and her deep textured vocals. She has an insatiable appetite for many different kinds of music, and is known for her eclectic mix of various musical genres including Blues, Soul, folk, Jazz and Rock.  Her diversity, passion and love of music can be heard in all of her original compositions.

    Over the past few years Angelique has risen through the ranks of the Blues/ Soul and roots music scene at warp speed.  After a cross Canada search she was selected top 6 emerging Blues artist for the Toronto Blues Society showcase, and was later chosen to represent the blues society at the International Blues Challenge In Memphis Tennessee. She was one of the winners of the Canada’s Walk of Fame RBC Emerging Artist initiative and had the opportunity to play at several Canada’s walk of Fame events, and In 2016 she was also nominated by Ottawa CityFolk Music festival for a Stingray Rising Star Award.  This highly sought after musician was a feature act at the Massey Hall (women’s Blues Revue),Montreal Jazz Festival, Ottawa Jazz festival, Aurora Winter Blues Festival, Mont-Tremblant Blues Festival, Trios-Rivieres Blues festival, Ottawa Folkfest, Val-d’Or Blues Fest, Calabogie Blues festival, Unity Festival, Ottawa Blues Festival, Montreal Jazz festival and the list goes on.

   Not only is this talented musician known as one of Canada’s top emerging blues artists, she is also recognized for her volunteer work with various charities and youth mentorship programs.  Over the past few years Angelique has received the following recognition for her volunteer efforts: An Ontario Leading Women Building Communities Award (This award honours women who have made a significant difference in their communities in the province of Ontario), A Global Alliance Community Builder Award (For giving back to the community through music), and an Art Child Award (youth making a difference through art).

  Angelique has also been featured in various radio, television and print media, such as Ottawa Women’s Magazine, Maple Blues Magazine, Canada’s Walk of Fame Magazine, Much Music, CTV, Own, Huffington Post, Boom 997, CKCU and the Ottawa Citizen.
