Angel Rattay

Angel Rattay looked for a wedding song and found a music career.

Along the way, she’s recorded a well-received album, founded a record company, charted two songs on European country music charts and opened for such acts as Sawyer Brown. Not bad for someone who sang a few times at her mom’s restaurant before she began her song search.

“I just wanted to sing a nice song at my friend’s wedding,” she says. “I never thought it would go any farther than that.” But her tenacity helped her take it much father. After all, this is a woman who, as a child, sang "Hit the Road, Jack" at a family campfire while other kids sang church songs.

Through the Internet, she became friends with songwriter Mieka Appel, who has written songs and performed with some of country music’s top artists. Mieka immediately knew that she wasn’t dealing with a wannabe singer but an artist in her own right.

That contact led to producer Tom Harding, who’s worked with such artists as SHeDaisy, LeeAnn Womack and Ronnie Dunn. The resulting album, "Flying Blind," was released on her own Rattay Entertainment label and was praised by such critics as Robert K. Oermann of Music Row magazine, who called the album “promising” and “bright-sounding and upbeat.”

Two songs from "Flying Blind" charted in Europe: "Something ‘Bout a Memory," #15 peak on the Norwegian Country Music Chart, and "She Is," #33 peak on the Swiss Country Music Chart.

On Her Own Terms
Angel has forged her musical identity honestly and on her own terms. She chose the "Flying Blind" songs herself and is doing the same for her upcoming release.
