Angie Rose

Angela Rosario is a 24 year old Puerto-Rican from theBronx, NYC with a big personality. She captivates audiences with her aggressive and energetic performance style. 

Born and raised in the Bronx. New York Native Angie Rose is no newcomer to the sound of hip-hop. Raised in an era where pioneers like Tupac, Big Pun and B.I.G where radically influencing the youth she felt at home with the sound of her streets. As she grew up she became a part of her environment and learned from her big brother to take music and make it tell her story. Raised by a culture that radically promotes violence she says "it is only by Gods grace and a praying family that my music promotes positivity. I remember standing in the staircases of my building everyday watching my brother and all his friends rap for hours, and every night watching my parents pray I had no choice but to fall in love with God and hip-hop; so why not bring em together in my music?" Angie Rose. 

ANGIE'S STYLE & MISSION

Angie's style is very gritty in nature, but balanced by a soulful pure mid-to-high tone range. Her skill-set is that of an freestyle artist, songwriter, singer and poet. Listeners sometimes describe her rap voice to be similar to that of Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes (TLC) and Nitty Scott, and her flow and content  comparable to J. Cole, Andy Mineo, and evenLauryn Hill. Even though she is still evolving as an artist, she already seems to be an interesting mixture of talent. 

Angie Rose aims to inspire people through her music. Using the platform of being an artist to inspire change and light up a dark world. Angie wants her music to be a testament of who Jesus Christ is in her life, and who he can be in the lives of those who have yet to encounter him. She desires to share her real life experiences and the amazing story of a God who is intimately involved in them all.  

ANGIE'S HISTORY 

Angie Rose is the youngest of 10 siblings raised in the heart of the Bronx. She was raised in a home where the best of two worlds collided. Born the daughter of two ministers and the younger sibling of a brother who breathed hip hop, both were engrained in her dna.  

Even though her family did all they could to protect her from life they could do nothing to protect her from herself.  The same curious nature that is now seen as a blessing led Angie down a dark path  filled with drugs, alcohol abuse, and loss of self worth.  As a result of her vices she had several run-ins with the law.  In an effort to escape, she abruptly moved to Florida and though she improved for a short time ultimately her addictive behavior became worse and seemed to be leading her to deaths door. She knew she wanted something better but her past experiences and pains would not allow her to look to God. Her heart longed for the peace only he could provide but her remind rejected the idea.

Until one day drowning in despair she sat at her piano and began to sing and encountered the God everyone had spoken about and in that moment he dramatically changed her life. This encounter led to dramatic transformation and a desire to share her experiences and the story of a God that saved her life. Now living to freely give the love she had so freely been given.
