Biography

I was born on the Gold Coast, Queensland Australia in '79, the oldest and shyest of 3 daughters. Much to my mothers suprise, there was always a performer on the inside of me screaming to get out!

At 14 I started singing BV's in youth bands and found I had a natural ear for harmonies. Growing up in church I was able to develop this ear on a weekly basis, and at some point (I don't remember when) I started penning tunes.

With no formal training I learnt by gleaning from the proffessionals around me and was often given a platform to perform my own material. Around this time I was recieving so much encouragement that I was forced at gunpoint to do something! (ok, the gunpoint thing didn't really happen)...

In 2001 I teamed up with some amazing friends and musicians and released my debut album 'Wherever You Are'. I followed this up by touring the east coast of Australia performing at gospel music festivals and the like.

Feeling that I had done everything I could in my hometown and side of Australia, I decided to pack up and move to London with the promise of the pound and further opportunities!

Since being in London my writing and performing styles have taken a slightly different edge, which I attribute to the confidence that one gains when travelling! I teamed up with fellow Aussie, Steve Kopandy, and we performed at various venues and open mic nights around London, as an acoustic duo to appreciative audiences!...Sadly he just left me for the sunny shores of NSW Australia...So we shant be performing together for a little while...unless I can arrange a satellite link or something....??

The short term goal for Angie is to secure a publishing deal and land a song in a feature film soundtrack...then live happily ever after while the record companies of the world fall over themselves trying to make me happy...or something like that!....Hey! What's life without a dream!?!?!

Lyrics

Blinking in the Dark

Written By: Angela Graham

I don’t want to be alone
Here with just my thoughts
Because every time you leave me here
Someone ends up hurt

And I don’t want to be alone
When I am 45
Because I let you slip away
And you found a little wife

But there ain’t no use pretending
I know what I want
Ain’t no use pretending
We can make this work

I don’t want to be alone
Blinking in the dark
Because every time you leave me here
I have a change of heart

And I don’t want to be alone
When I am 54
Because I took the love you gave
And showed it to the door

It’s not you it’s me
It’s not me it’s you
It’s not you it’s me
It’s not me it’s us

We can make this work
We can make this work
We can make this work
We can make this work

Pain Collector

Written By: Angie Graham

On a premeditated whim
You mount your grey horse
And I see you start to fall
You’re getting off course
With some systematic destruction in mind
You ride that grey horse
Deep into the night

You’re the pain collector
And everyone’s out to get you

Collecting all of the emotions you find
You label the jars
And you keep them in lines
You sent the sun away invited the rain
Because warmth and light
Never compliment pain

You’re the pain collector
And everyone’s out to get you

I try to understand
What you want from me
I’d give it to you if it came easily
But what you need is not something that I have

Dear New York

Written By: Angela Graham

Dear New York
Seems that everybody sings
About you sometime

Dear New York
Seems that everybody falls
In love with you one time

I’m sorry that it’s not my turn
But I will have to learn
To fall in love
To fall in love

Dear New York
You came to me
With a promise I could use

Dear New York
You offered me a place
To hang my walking shoes

Dear New York
I came to you
Wanted you to be my love song

But it’s not my turn
No it’s never my turn
But I won’t give up till I’m lovin’ you
