Bio

Angies passion and interest in music began very early in life. At 4 years old, she attended a program called Music for Young Children and was introduced to the basics of piano and performance. It was while attending this program that she composed her first piano piece at the tender age of 6, and continued to compose a total of 17 piano pieces before the age of 10. She began to study classical piano privately at 7 years old and excelled, attaining her Grade 10 certificate and winning numerous competitions and awards. Angie also spent time during her adolescent years learning to play other instruments such as guitar, bagpipes, oboe and fiddle.

Angie delved into the world of songwriting when she was 15 years old. Many of her early songs were written on the guitar, which she performed with her band 20/80' at the Halifax Pavilion and other local establishments in and around Halifax, Nova Scotia. Now residing in Calgary, Alberta, Angie has written lyrics and performed vocals for electronic dance music and was featured in the 2010 international release Piece by Piece by the esteemed Calgary-based Artist/DJ/Producer Micah Lukasewich. She has also collaborated with Calgary-based Producer/DJ Mitchell Claxton on his track Koh Samui, which has been signed to Monstercat Media and has acquired over 200,000 views on YouTube.

Angie has since returned to composing songs on the piano. Gleaning inspiration from her personal experiences, she enjoys writing songs that explore a range of topics, human emotion, psychology and metaphysical concepts. Her lyrics often have deep meaning and are open to personal interpretation. In March 2012, Angie was named the Regional Winner for Calgary, Alberta in the Canadian Radiostar National Talent Search for her original song, Feel Me. She has since arranged and produced a demo CD of original material and plans to record her debut album over the next year.
