BandPopSinger/Songwriter

Angie DeNicholas' music has the perfect balance of strength and grace. Her strong vocals, honest lyrics and driving accompaniment meld into songs that are both bold and timid. When she plays live, Angie sings with such a serious sensuality, it's hard to focus one's ears, or eyes on anything else.

Biography

Songwriting that begins as poetry produces lyrics with a certain unabashed emotion, a rawness that let's listeners into the writer's own experiences. When Angie DeNicholas decided to put her poems to music, she drew from influences like Silverchair and PJ Harvey to the Beatles and Regina Spektor. When she found her own style, it blended forceful, yet delicate vocals with creative chord changes and interesting melodies. Angie began playing shows in 2007, and has found that she can captivate audiences with her strength and grace, often quieting a room while she performs.

Lyrics

Deep and Wild

Written By: Angie DeNicholas

Damn my imagination
Everyone’s an ocean in it
The deep blue
And pale green
Seafoam and lightning

Fill my ocean deep and wild
Fill my ocean deep and wild

Damn my imagination
Everyone’s an ocean in it yeah
The tide breathes and blushes
The sun sets on crutches

Fill my ocean deep and wild
Fill my ocean deep and wild

I’m running water over my eyes
And I can’t see what’s in front of me
I’m chasing inconvenience
But it feels all right
I’d rather be sleeping but I’ll
Go to the water tonight.

Deep and wild
Deep and wild
Deep and wild

The Impression

Written By: Angie DeNicholas

You wake
it’s not your bed
It’s not your head
It’s not your life
You’re under the impression
You’re on the right path
but it feels like more like
Your too far east
When your heart is in the west

Don't breathe with your heart anymore,
Breathe with your lungs.
Is this nostalgia or nausea?
Are you sick in the stomach
or are you sick in the head?

Take fate
It's gorgeous bride
But set aside
Her diamond ring
It’s tightening around your chambers
The door is closing leave your mind ajar
The light in you
Is dimmed when you misconstrue

Don’t breathe with your heart anymore
breathe with your lungs
Is this nostalgia or nausea?
Are you sick to your stomach or sick in the head?

My Pocket

Written By: Angie DeNicholas

My mind goes to sleep whenever you are here
But that's a good thing it's always filled with doubt and fear

I carry you with me I've got a pocket in my mind
You always hear me when I yell out to the sky
I'm well until I'm bleeding
And with the sky I'm pleading
Leave him with me and I'll keep him forever
As a guide, an ally or whatever we decide is right.

Because of you it's true my butterflies are breathing
But I've got a way to go before I start believing

I carry you with me I've got a pocket in my mind
You always hear me when I yell out to the sky
I'm well until I'm bleeding
And with the sky I'm pleading
Leave him with me and I'll keep him forever
As a guide, an ally or whatever we decide is right.

Your kisses are the sweetest thing
And I'll need them even if they're only on my cheek.

I carry you with me I've got a pocket in my mind
You always hear me
You always hear me
I'm well until I'm bleeding
And with the sky I'm pleading
Leave him with me and I'll keep him forever
Keep him forever
I'll keep him forever
I've got a pocket in my mind
I've got a pocket in my mind
I've got a pocket in my mind
