""Animal Farm" by Rick Taylor"

"Definitely shying away from more standard pop fare, Animal Farm are more influenced by Anglophile art rock bands like Radiohead and Muse, while they do tend to add elements of hard from influences like Rage Against the Machine, particularly into their live performances."

"Over three songs, Animal Farm start off ambient, develop stronger, and yes, by the end you are invigorated and hoping for more." - View Magazine

Bio

ANIMAL FARM is a rock band established in Hamilton, Ontario. After playing in numerous bands with and without one another, Kyle Caldwell (vocals/guitar), Andrew Wojtow (guitar), Justin Fuciarelli (bass/vocals), and Vic Carreiro (drums) formed Animal Farm in late 2010. The four had a collective appreciation of rock music, as well as having their own individual tastes that would come to create the original sound of the band.

Striving to create engaging live shows, Animal Farm played gigs at every available opportunity – slowly growing a loyal fanbase while honing their performances. Avid concert-goers themselves, the band’s love for live music pushed them to rehearse often and tighten their sound, creating a live unit that could ebb and flow through an acoustic ballad or manhandle a rock epic.

After fine-tuning their songs at rehearsals and on stage, Animal Farm headed into the studio in 2011 to begin work on their debut EP, “The Dove Prism.” Featuring hard rock riffage, galloping acoustic picking, metal-inspired solos, swirling basslines, Middle-Eastern modes, and three-part vocal harmonies – the EP’s songs were specifically chosen to reflect the band’s eclectic tastes. Released in early 2012, the EP showcases Animal Farm’s dynamic and original sound and sets the stage for the band’s continued evolution.
