Led by delusional cultist Brent O'Toole and a trio of musical vagabonds, Animatist is a sovereign nation founded after a very non-violent therapy session in early 2014. Mathematical time distortions and psychedelic freakouts are written into the constitution of these post-rock pundits and woven into the seams of the great nation's proud flag.
Some have compared this mighty empire to the likes of Battles and Tortoise, but their strange and danceable syncopations are a creation all their own.
