"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas by An Introduction to Sunshine."

Despite what Florida band, An Introduction to Sunshine's name implies, this one's a mellow (and almost trippy) version of the Christmas classic. It comes from the wonderful compilation album of Christmas classics covered by various indie bands called Hey, It's Christmas! Vol. 1 . What's great about the album is it's fresh take on your standard classic Christmas tunes such as Silent Night and First Noel. And, being true to the spirit of Christmas -- it's available for free at the album's Bandcamp page :) - Indie Music Database

"Concert review: Plants and Animals at Backbooth, Orlando (with setlist and video)"

The opening act, An Introduction to Sunshine, proved an excellent local choice; their style is somewhat similar and heavily guitar driven. Though they have a lot more vocalists (all five members of the band sing on nearly every song), there are definite similarities. Their closing song, “Weighed Down,” was especially catchy and left me with a strong first impression and anticipation to see them again the next time they make it to Tampa. - Creative Loafing Tampa

"This Little Underground"

Up to this point, all I’ve seen of local indie-pop band An Introduction to Sunshine were ideas killed by overzealous instrumentation. But they recently played a stripped down, mostly acoustic set (June 20, the Social backroom), and instead of cramming like they tend to do, this setup actually allowed their musical gestures to breathe far more fully and spring to life. Most importantly, singer Michael Serrin’s elegant voice was much more effective without instruments crowding it. This more flatteringly restrained approach had more clarity and made their songwriting skill translate more fully. If this set’s indicative of what they’ve been working on, this band can finally be a real player. - Orlando Weekly

"An Introduction to Sunshine, Mirror Pal"

"A couple of weeks back, we whined that DeLand’s finest, Mirror Pal, hasn’t visited Orlando often enough, but finally they took our call. They came bearing gifts as well, particularly local openers An Introduction to Sunshine, who celebrate their EP release with this show. The Stetson University dwellers deliver some powerful acoustic folk thanks to a Bacharachian sense of melody and Michael Serrin’s Jonathan Richman–esque baritone. Sunshine navigates around treacherous platitudes with grace, and when backup vocalist Megan Gattozzi chimes in, the tracks achieve angsty liftoff. If that’s not enough, headlining ambient princes Mirror Pal make the most illustrative makeout music in Florida. Either one of these excellent acts could break wide open any minute now." - Orlando Weekly

Bio

It was the blistering hot florida summer of 2006 when Michael Serrin, Chandler Strang, and Travis Reed decided to start a band, taking the name of Michael's solo project "An Introduction to Sunshine." Meanwhile, David Plakon came down from Nashville for summer vacation from college. David and Chandler had known each other for a very long time and played in their first band together at 14, and Chandler asked David to record their demo. Soon after David hopped on the bass and the band began playing around their hometown of Orlando. After some complications, Travis Reed left the band and lead guitarist Mike Senejoa stepped in his shoes. The band continued establishing a following in central Florida, making appearances at some of the larger venues. Sunshine went on a hiatus when drummer Chandler Strang left to live in Australia for 6 months. Upon his return, they began recording their first official release the "Everything's Been Done" E.P. which was released on their first show back on March 16th 2008. With a newfound fervor generated from the contemplative break, the band is on its way to conquer the southeast.

In the time since their last release, An Introduction to Sunshine has refined their sound and Added a new member, Stephen Garza. They're preparing to release two EP's in the first half of 2011, the first is tentatively titled "Snow Tire"
