Anita Carter

BandFolkSinger/Songwriter

I am an Artist inspired by my experience as a witness-We fragment the light from the dark and throw it back in various mediums.

Biography

I love to travel to different cultures; adventure and spontaniety. I have worked in Antarctica, sung in clubs and bars. I love french music, real voices, poets and painters and prophets. I do not believe age is a limitation at either end of the scale.

Cloaked Tapestry

Written By: Anita Carter

Cloaked Tapestry

The more I know/ the more I get to know
The more I know it’s harder
Not to let disappointment show/ In a whole lotta strife
No respect for pure life.

Gotta find-/ a solution/a plan that reaches fruition
Emptiness thrives on tomorrow’s promises
From wonderment to concrete/Jungle to bungle
When are you complete?

Not taught words to form my own opinions/
They are pre-arranged in shallow curriculum.
I live in the silence of knowing/ don’t try to be showing
Me/how to play
I’ve run the road and spun
Found it to travelled/
Took the one less
An open book/it was yet to be unravelled
Left out of your mess

A rich tapestry can’t be seen in the dark
Amongst catastrophe/souls open to insanity
Blinded by triviality/not seeing humanity/
Endless possibility-----.

Bourgeois Girl

Written By: Anita Carter

Bourgeois Girl

She sits in the corner of her world
Nobody can imagine a more bourgeois girl
What it is that defines?
Could it be that her full lips are red
Or a connotation been added to what she has said
That the food is fine, just so
Or a sumptuous rich red wine
A Van Gough or Picasso painting
Or was it------somebodies sainting
A throw of the dice all dressed up nice
Bath-houses of France/ an accompanied glance
To a sexy Latin dance-

Tell me/tell me bourgeois/bourgeois girl
Tell me bourgeois girl----is it the guilt from
Velvet pleasure /the fig of the fruit
Or inedible leisure

The jig of the joker as he plays his flute
The smell of the cheese as it wafts the room
The crackling of ice in sync with a tune
Or a beautiful coffee inside a drunken toffee
Or the fat lady singing a little to soon
Brightly coloured flowers or
Expensively restored leaning towers

Tell me/ Tell me bourgeois/bourgeois
Tell me bourgeois is it the guilt from
Velvet pleasure/ The fig of the fruit
Or inedible leisure

Unrestored balance in a thought provoking trance
Without explanation from your acute observation
It is certain to take all elements
To weave and drape curtain of magnificence
Provide to the Emperor a meani---ng
The meaning of life it would be seeming
It is yours to curl
Bourgeois/ Bourgeois girl/It is yours to curl
Bourgeois/Bourgeois girl/Bourgeois girl

Motivated

Motivated

I’m motivated by your lies/captivated by the truth
Propelled by the puzzle although laid frayed in joins forced
I’m not seeing its complete-need to shake it out wake you up
Put together wrong and sound the gong

Not personal, huh, when my organs shuffle
What is hidden from my eyes/
Dressed in the ties of rational to sceptical/
A rich man thrown from wealth to the gutter of poor health
To justify the lie/ what goes with you /what do you leave behind

Does “legacy” ring any bells for you-
Time tells the truth/reality calamity/
Present vindicated in the future always for today
It is this way now while the big machine
Calls the shoots creating the perception/
Needed to keep the wheels tur-turn-turning
From unsustainable choice honour and integrity.

Ohhh I am motivated by the lie and captivated by the truth
I’m motivated by the truth I’m captivated by the lie/
Motivated/captivated/motivated/captivated
you can’t shay-aa-aake/ you can’t shay aa aake me/
I’m motivated by the lie and captivated by the truth
You can’t shake that motivated/captivated.
And you can’t shake that.

come to me seeing

Written By: Anita Carter

And if you don’t learn from your mistakes
You will burn
Evolving it takes/The first step
Confusion
Then fusion of being
Come to me seeing
Come to me seeing
Respectfully is the way to fly
Dutifully is the way to die
Come to me seeing
Come to me seeing
Bring to me your being
I know they never treated you right
Let it all be over after tonight
Come to me as if for the first time
Try for me every pure line
Come to me seeing
Come to me seeing
Bring to me your being
Cultivate your inner loving
It’s all feel to be real.
Let go and fall with me
Feel the wind to tell the speed at which you fall
Come to me/bring to me/come to me seeing
Bring to me your being.

United States "Tutu Say"

Written By: Anita Carter

United States
Intrinsic at best
Americas iron fist
What is right and what is wrong
Fake breasts and faces
To hug and to kiss
False lips that speak
Dyed hair upon the cheek
The capitalists will soon
Be worse
Than the communists/dictators
/socialists-they wreak havoc on
Che Guevera Say:
Those that kill or be killed.
I say:
Live in dense/dense/dense reality
That the light of better day
Can only cleanse/
Those whom take the funds
From the repair of their despair
To get oil to fund greed
A short term seed
This evolution from the tender fern
Pushing upward ever-onward
Tutu says women must reign
Not the puppets of men/barren
But those with soft breast
And heart and soul
The meek will walk
The men will get educated, then they may talk
Who will hear again?
It will be a long day
To forget this reign today and
Whoever, whoever whoever
Labeled the meek as the weak?
