Bio

Captivating and mesmerizing her audiences with her smooth vocal style and range, she has been described by some of Alabama's most respected Jazz musicians as (vocally) being "in the stratosphere man".

Multi-talented singer, songwriter Anita Spratt is a graduate of the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA)

After graduation from ASFA, Anita visited her sister in Minnesota. Upon hearing Anita sing for the first time, her sister immediately made a phone call and the very next day Anita was introduced to Terry Lewis, one half of the well acclaimed producing-songwriting team "Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis". There she briefly performed with Terry's group "Flyte Tyme" as lead vocalist and flautist before returning to B'ham after being awarded a full scholorship to continue her education in Performing Arts.

On an earlier project Anita worked with Grammy Award winners, singer / songwriter Brian McKnight and his brother Claude McKnight along with Joey Kimble (of the group "Take Six") who performed as background singers on three of her original compositions. Anita also co-wrote a song with songwriter/musician Brandon Barnes who is an accredited writer on several of Brian McKnight's albums. She has also worked with producer/musician/engineer; Scott McDavid and Tony Wachter on her remixes of "You're The One".

On her most recent CD project, Anita has worked with producer/musician/engineer; Hassan Davis and Grammy Award Winner Phil Davis.

In the early 90's Anita performed in Birmingham's annual music festival, The Birmingham City Stages, as an international act on the Coca Cola stage. She also opened for the Millie Jackson and Johnny Taylor Blues Concert held at the Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery, Alabama. In 2005, she also performed with "Jazz Ambassador" Charles Marshall in Atlanta Georgia.
