Bio

Each member of Anjeliina has brought with them a plethora of contrasting influences. Their sound combines elements of Soundtrack Music, European Folk Music, Heavy Rock, Metal and Ambient Pop amongst others. Whilst Alison’s vocal element in the group draws influences primarily from heavy rock, jazz, celtic and classical music.

The female name "Angelina" symbolizes beauty, whilst the spelling draws influence from spiritual names found in esoteric texts. Thus the name "ANJELIINA" represents the sound of the band, being a mixture of beauty and horror.

HISTORY

Many people may remember Anjeliina from when they first formed in mid 2001, as a male fronted electronic rock act. Due to artistic differences, the five-man line up dispersed in early 2005.

The name lay dormant until Danni (founder of the group) met drummer Brad Hunt mid 2006 and discussed the idea of forming a new female fronted heavy rock band.
Danni believed female vocals would be the best way to capture and compliment Anjeliina's new sound.

Mike Barillaro, the original bassist of Anjeliina then rejoined the band as bassist/backing vocalist. After many guitarist try-outs, Andy Suppradit was chosen as his playing, views and vision were complimentary to the other members.

And Finally in late 2006, after an extensive search for a vocalist, Danni met Ali Cunningham through some rather “meant to be” coincidences and Anjeliina’s new sound was finally ready to come to fruition!
