"I was really intrigued to see how the live set would be after hearing her wicked music on Myspace. Annaca is a really energetic performer and fun to watch. The band were obviously having loads of fun on stage which is so important and defintely made the audience feel at ease. There were some cool covers in the set too which were a surprise and crowd pleasers. When you are performing to a room full of musicians and bands who come from all different styles and cultures I think I would be a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to please the whole room- but Annaca really did pull off a very cool and entertaining little set. Bio
Annaca's love of music has always pre-occupied her. She began to play the piano and sing when she was 14. She began writing and recording songs with Tunbridge Wells producer Jacob Plant two years ago and since then has gone on to form her own band of the same name. Since then she has performed live on numerous occasions, featured on BBC Introducing Kent and is getting great reviews and plaudits from all corners of the Music Industry.
Annaca is also busy developing her song writing skills and has so far had co-writes with two of the UK's leading composers – Rob Davis (Kylie Minogue) and David Lowe who as well as composing the BBC News theme, penned the hit ‘Would You (Go to Bed With Me)’.
As well as her live work and song writing, Annaca is also building up her session work and can be heard on the new jingle packages for BRMB and Mercia in the Midlands.
2010 is going to be an interesting year for Annaca as she builds and develops her live band and adds to its repertoire of songs. With several co-writes in the pipeline and a number of producers eager to work with her, Annaca is working towards an album release in 2010.
Musical influences include Bat For Lashes, Florence and the Machine, Ladyhawke, Santogold, The White Lies, MGMT, Friendly Fires, The XX, Fever Ray, Temper Trap. She also admires Mazzy Star, Blondie, Kate Bush, Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, David Bowie.
