Anna Freitas is a talented, thirty something year old singer-songwriter-guitarist that displays a penchant for spiraling, well planned arrangements and emotive vocals on her three song sampler. With hints of Ani DiFranco intersecting throughout her songs, Freitas adds her own unique punch to the proceedings with her refreshingly resonant voice and upbeat acoustic guitar work. Assisted by the rhythm section of brothers Aaron and Luke Bellamy on bass and drums respectively, the duo holds down a solid foundation for Freitas to soar from. No filler here gang, just a well played and well written three song session. Expect to hera a lot more from this talented Berklee graduate in the future. Good stuff!

Anna Frietas has a powerful punch behind that cute and almost coy grin. Her voice is a well-orchestrated back-drop to her strong guitar playing. At times it seems almost rightfully placed in the anti-folk crowd but without all the tepid and almost embarrassing clichés that are wrought in that scene nowadays. Lyrically it’s tender and catchy, with the only distraction being the recording, which lends a muted quality to otherwise explosive indie rock. After solving the recording process, she no doubt will be an even bigger force guaranteed to dominate more than her local Boston music scene. - smother.net

Bio
Anna Freitas has been a member of the Boston music scene since the mid-nineties. After graduating with a B. A. in Music from Berklee, she knew that her skills as both a singer and guitar player were sharp, and
that it was time to hone her skills as a songwriter. It was during the next few years that Anna became a stand out among local songwriters on the open mike circuit. She continued to perform as both a solo artist and with the accompaniment of bass and drums. This band configuration became more solidified when Anna teamed up with long time local rhythm section, Aaron Bellamy; bass, and Luke Bellamy; drums. The trio blazed successfully through shows at clubs such as T.T. the Bear's and the Kendall Cafe. Throughout the following years Anna also performed at local clubs as lead guitarist for the funk/rock band Dr. Overseer and also as resident guitarist in the Wally's Stepchildren. Now in 2007, Anna Freitas is back stronger than ever writing and performing her original, guitar driven music. Her range of musical influences and performing experience has shown itself in her new material. Her soulful mix of R&B, rock, and funk is sure to make you smile.
