My name is Anna Macdonald, I have a passion and love for music of all description. I am a singer songwriter and am influenced by everything, I listen to all types and genres of music with a particular interest for energy and story-lines inside songs.
I'm known in New Zealand as the chick off the Telecom ad (Connecting New Zealanders was an advertising campaign for the national mobile phone company, I was featured as an up and coming artist) My latest performance was on the National Sports Awards (Halbergs) which is the equivalent in New Zealand of the Oscars : ) It was a big honor, and the program was televised live on two of the national mainstream TV channels. The music I perform and write varies, but most of my repertoire has distinct folk, jazz, pop and country influences. I am different from other song-writers because of the area I live in, it is so vast and beautiful, there is a lot of time to write and a lot of space to think without being directly influenced by MTV or the Radio. I have a different style and a love for music which I strive to reflect through my performance.
