Parading in the Rain

Written By: Kris Bergsnes

I feel the raindrops drumming as I march against the wind
I knew this storm was coming, but I’m not throwing my towel in
It’s not raining, on my parade

My tired heart’s still beating, no it’s not giving up
Inside the pain is pouring, but I’m headed towards the sun
It’s not raining on my parade

CHORUS
My hope is my umbrella
My will’s the silver in these clouds
My future is my shelter, when the thunder’s crashing loud
The wind I weather, through water I wade
It’s not raining on my parade
I’m parading in the rain

My heart is all but breaking, but I a’int dwelling in the past
Inside I’m celebrating, for all the great times that we had
It’s not raining on my parade

I know the right one’s out there, who’s got a heart that’s true
And I’m gonna keep on watching til that love comes shining through
It’s not raining on my parade

CHORUS
Guitar Solo

Me and Charlie Talking

Written By: Miranda Lambert

Me and Charlie boy used to go walking
Sittin in the woods behind my house
When bein lovers meant a stolen kiss
And holding hands with nobody else around
Charlie said he wanted to get married
But we were only ten so we’d have to wait
He said we’d never let our love run dry
Like so many do these days

Chorus:
So we treat our love like a firefly
Like it only gets to shine for a little while
Catch it in a mason jar
With holes in the top
And run like hell to show it off
Oh promises we made when we’d go walkin
That’s just me and Charlie talking

Charlie always said he’d like to leave here
So he turned 18 and left our sleepy town
Letters came and went and I kept waiting
For Charlie to come back
And bring the life he’d found
Funny how time and distance change you
The road you take
Don’t always lead you home
You can start a love with good intentions
And you look up and it’s gone

Chorus

Now and then I sometimes think of Charlie
How we thought we knew it all back then
Now I’d give anything to feel love
From a child’s heart again

Chorus

Give Me a Reason

Written By: Anna Kaelin

Do you love me? It’s that simple
You’ve had enough time to know
I can’t keep waiting for an answer
It’s either a ‘yes’, or a ‘no’
And after all this time, I don’t wanna say goodbye
Is this really over?
Don’t know if it’s right or wrong, don’t want to stay if you’re gone
But then I remember {still I remember},

I think of the days you almost held me tight
I think of the times you almost kissed me goodnight
But you say give you one more chance
So before I walk away, give me a reason to stay

There are times I know I’d miss you
And times I wish I could move on
Cause I don’t know what else is out there waiting
But I know what I’d be missing if you’re gone
I can’t keep looking behind, but I can’t get you off my mind
I feel like giving in
Maybe I’ve stayed too long, I don’t know where I belong
What am I trying to win?

I think of the days you almost held me tight
I think of the times you almost kissed me goodnight
But you say give you one more chance
So before I walk away, give me a reason to …
[I’m feeling happy but I’m scared
Oh I can’t tell you what I feel inside tonight
Cause I wanna run away,
But it’s only cause this feels so right]

And I think of the days you almost held me tight
I think of the times you almost kissed me goodnight
And I wanna give you one more chance

Cause I think of the days you almost held me tight
I think of the times you almost kissed me goodnight
So I’m giving you one more chance
So before I walk away, oh I’m giving you one more day
And I don’t wanna walk away
So give me a reason to stay

Why'd You Do It

Written By: Anna Kaelin

You said you were different now
And that you changed your ways/ you said you changed your ways
You said there’s no looking back
And no going back to broken hearted days
No letting anyone in and no more tears to cry
With being by yourself, there’d be no more goodbyes

(So why did you do it)
Why did you let him break down your wall
(Why did you do it)
Why did you take a chance and love him at all
(Why did you do it)
Why did you dream about him every night
Did you think it was alright

(Why did you do it)
Why did you smile when you heard his name
(Why did you do it)
Why did you play into his little game
(Why did you do it)
Why did you, why did you, why did you,
Oh baby, oh why did you do it

You said that I was the one
That you’d always been waiting for
So why now don’t I believe
What you say every time you walk out the door
Your be back in a minute never comes back on time
And I’m finding out that boy I love’s no longer mine

(Why did you do it)
Why did you need to break down my wall
(Why did you do it)
Why did you take a chance to hurt me at all
(Why did you do it)
Why did you leave me to be with her every night
Did you think it was alright

(Why did you do it)
Why did you lie when I saw her name
(Why did you do it)
Why did you make me play this little game
(Why did you do it)
Why did you, why did you, why did you,
Oh baby, oh why did you do it

I said I was different now
And that I changed my ways/ I said I changed my ways
I said there’s no looking back
And no going back to broken hearted days

(So why did I do it)
Why did I let him break down my wall
(Why did I do it)
Why did I take a chance and love you at all
(Why did I do it)
Why did I dream about you every night
Did I think it was alright

(Why did I do it)
Why did I smile when I heard your name
(Why did I do it)
Why did I play into your little game
(Why did I do it)
Why did you, why did you,

(Why did you do it)
Why did you let him break down your wall
(Why did you do it)
Why did you take a chance and love him at all
(Why did you do it)
Why did you dream about him every night
Did you think it was alright

(Why did you do it)
Why did you smile when you heard his name
(Why did you do it)
Why did you play into his little game
(Why did you do it)
Why did you, why did you, why did you,
Why did you do it,
Oh why did you do it,
oh why did you do it,
oh baby why did you do, why did you, why did you
Oh, why did you do it

Come On, Come On

Written By: Susan Brown

It’s a freight train rollin down the track
When it’s going you can’t turn it back
It’s a whirlwind twisting around
And you can’t slow it down
So don’t speak I know what’s on your mind
Just kiss me and leave it all behind
There’s no use waiting or hesitating

Chorus
Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on baby
You’ve got my heart you might as well take it
You’re like a hurricane I get caught in
I’m on the edge already fallin’
What can I say, what can I do
I know, I know you’re feeling it too
You drive me crazy
Come on, come on, come on, come on baby

Let go, look into my eyes baby
Let’s get pulled into the tide
‘Cause we can’t deny it
When something’s so strong we’re never gonna fight it

Chorus

Take a risk
Take a chance
Don’t let it slip right through your hands
Before you know it the moment’s gone
So come on, come on

Chorus

What can I say
What can I do
I know, I know you’re feeling it too
You’re driving me crazy
So come on, come on, come on, come on baby

Come on, come on, come on, come on baby

I Will Not Stand Down

Written By: Dinah Brein

Well I was much too soft
When I should have been strong
Stayed too late
When I should have been gone
And this half empty glass
Well it should have been overflowing
Now my heart won’t be pushed around

Chorus
I will not stand down
I’m gonna fly on faith
Let my future ride on what I do today
When the world starts to shake my ground
I will not stand down

Not geoing to settle for a life
That feels half lived
Won’t settle for love
When I’m the only one giving
‘Cause I think I deserve all that Heaven and Earth will allow
I want it all, and I want it now

Chorus

I feel born again
On my face there’s a chance of rain landing
Like new life in the Spring
A new day will raise where I’m standing

SOLO

With all these battles I fought I will not

CHORUS

I’ll do whatever it takes
Let my future ride on what I do today
When the world starts to shake my ground
I will not stand down
I’m gonna fly on faith
When the world starts to shake my ground
I will not stand down
I’ll do whatever it takes
I will not stand down

When Gentry Plays Guitar

Written By: Jessica Andrews

When Gentry plays guitar
It's like a song Leon sang long ago
When Gentry plays guitar
The girls at the bar watch him roll away the stone
Pisces apple lady, Delta queen
When he lets down his long brown hair
I wish he belonged to me
But, he don't, He belongs to the song
And the Melody
When Gentry plays guitar

When Gentry sings this song
He's alone inside a glass house
Made of stone
When Gentry sings a song
His Mom and Dad and his sisters all sing along
Sweet home Oklahoma, Prince of peace
When he lets down his long brown hair
I wished he belong to me
But he don't, He belongs to the song and the melody
When Gentry plays guitar

In conversation you will drown
In his deep dark eyes
But salvation is sweet
'Cause he gives you a rose
And you realize

When Gentry plays guitar
It's like a songs Leon sang long ago
When Gentry plays guitar
The girls at the bar watch him roll away the stone
Pisces apple lady, Delta queen
When he lets down his long brown hair
I wish he belonged to me
But, he don't, He belongs to the song
And the Melody

When Gentry plays guitar
He belonged to the melody
When Gentry played guitar
How I wished he belonged to me
But he don't
He belonged to the song and the melody
When Gentry plays guitar

When Love Finds You

Written By: Vince Gill

Love sure is something no one can explain
It can bring you such joy, it can bring you pain
And with every emotion, love puts us through
There's nothing you can say, when love finds you

Love is the power that makes your heart beat
It can make you move mountains, make you drop to your knees
When it finally hits you, you won't know what to do
There's nothin' you can say, when love finds you

Give it all you can give it, when your love comes around
If you put your heart in it, then it won't let you down
You'll find out it's true, baby, someday when love finds you

And when you least expect it, it will finally come true
There's nothing you can say when love finds you

Give it all you can give it, when your love comes around
If you put your heart in it, then it won't let you down
You'll find out it's true, baby, someday when love finds you

You'll find out it's true, baby, someday when love finds you

Can't Have That

Written By: Anna Kaelin, Brad Hull, Tom Worth

He’s getting kinda close and movin way too fast
And he’s just gotta know I can’t have that
All I’m lookin for’s a temporary man
He’s wantin’ more and I can’t have that
Don’t need no one to slow me down

CHORUS -1
And I can’t be running through his mind, can’t see me in his life
Can’t be all he needs, a’int gonna happen, not with me
It seems I never want what I can have
And I can’t have that

Look’s like he’s backin’ off, I guess he got my point
But was I wrong, oh I can’t have that
I kinda liked it when I was in control
I miss his attention and I can’t have that
I’m starting to wish I never said

CHORUS – 2
That I can’t be running through his mind, can’t see me in his life
Can’t be all he needs, a’int gonna happen, not with me
It seems I never want what I can have
And I can’t have

That make me weak look in his eyes
The touch of his hands
Cause since she stole his smile
I guess I missed my chance

Solo

CHORUS – 3
And I can’t be running through his mind, now that she’s in his life
Can’t be all he needs, a’int gonna happen, not with me
It seems I always want what I can’t have
And I can’t have that
