Anna Nygren

Anna Nygren

BandJazzSinger/Songwriter

Anna Nygren is an established piano player, songwriter and singer from Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden. Her music is sensitive, organic and deep with a Scandinavian tune. She is educated in classical piano from the Royal Musical Academy.

Biography

The cool melancholic jazz ballad “Just Wanna Say I’m Sorry” is running big time on Swedish radio stations. Annas debut album "In a sentimental mood" is a record that invites you to organic music, heart full interpretations on some of the most classic jazz tunes. The record also contains 3 original tracks, written by Anna herself. The album was made during three sessions with several of Sweden’s leading jazz musicians, amongst others, Ulf Wakenius, Hans Backenroth, Peter Johannesson, Georg Riedel and Max Schultz.

- I see myself as a broad musical artist. I play jazz, pop, and classical.

You can see a lot of similarity with the American world famous artist Diana Krall, with a genuine career as a bar pianist (Krall worked at Sheraton, Anna is contracted at Grand in Stockholm). Annas way of putting her own touch on the music will be noticed when you listen to the album.

RECOMMENDATION FROM ROLF LINDBLOM (professor of piano at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm)
Anna Nygren studied piano with me before her time at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where she majored in teaching piano. She has a tremendous gift, she’s very musical, and she has a refreshingly strong individual personality. Anna Nygren is very capable of playing any genre. She’s successful in the world of so called “serious art music” as well as the world of Afro-American music. It is a pleasure for me to be able to recommend her to the very best.
