Young danish four-piece ANNASAID has been through a raving evolution through the last year. A year that included support-gigs for international stars such as Glasvegas (Aarhus, DK), Florence + the Machine (Brussels, Amsterdam and Copenhagen) and The Temper Trap (2 x Copenhagen). Live, Annasaid are known for their explosive energy and high speed, the shimmering guitars soaring above the solid, hard-hitting rhythm-section.
On their debutalbum Jua, these qualities are ever-present along with a newly-found flair and sense for arrangements and layers of melodies. From frantic, angst-ridden punk-inspired songs, over chilled out African rhythms to massive anthems, Jua offers melody, energy and diversity in spades and is an utterly exciting and massively promising document of one the most striking new bands in Denmark.
Even though they are often compared to bands such as Foals and Bloc Party, Annasaid represents a more melodic and "funky" style in the Math-Pop/Rock genre.
JUA was released in Denmark in May 2010.
Recently the band signed a deal with Dutch indie-label Suburban Records, for release of the album in Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg on 24th September 2010.
More than 150 concerts in both their native Denmark and throughout Europe tells the story of truly magnificent liveband, able to please and impress their audience anytime and anywhere. Enjoy!
