Bio

In the Fall of 2006 the Lake Havasu Rock Festival is ready to kick off day two, with headliners LIVE and The Black Crowes prepping back stage. A little known band takes the stage at 2PM to get the party started, and by the end of their set they have given away hundreds of DVD/CD packages and leave a long line of concert goers upset because there were not enough to go around. The party was officially started, and Anna’s Brother was the band that had the honor of working the crowd.. Anna’s Brother is a band from the O.C. that has a very simple formula, “let the songs and the stage speak for themselves.” Producer Sylvia Massy Shivy has been working with the band on the recording of their first CD. Upon first hearing their catalog of songs was taken aback with the songwriting, and knew that she had stumbled onto something great. Anthony Cardenas is the enigmatic front man with Anna’s Brother. His formative years were spent on stage in the Los Angeles club scene, crafting his talent as a singer, guitarist, and songwriter. After being part of several RIAA gold and platinum albums he walked away to find his ideal musical vision. Anna’s Brother is that vision. Bassist Stephen Bray, drummer Chuck Cummings, and guitarist Michael Anderson were discovered piece by piece coming from bands like Aunt Betty’s and Adam and the Weight. One by one, Cardenas found the musicians who shared his vision, and began to build an undeniable group of songs that ended up attracting industry interest and a growing audience at each show. The band started performing in the L.A., Orange County, and Las Vegas areas garnering more and more attention show after show. Anna’s Brother was approached to do videos for two of the songs that came out of their early sessions, “Used To Be” and “Sadi”. They celebrated with a sold out show at the Whisky A-GoGo in L.A., where they debuted the videos to the capacity crowd. Not content to play it safe the boys decided that their next target was the Amplify music competition in Las Vegas where they made the top 10 out of hundreds of participants and literally thousands of entries. The newest Sylvia Massy Shivy session has produced the straight ahead rocker, “Never Say Never”, the inspirational “Shoot 4 Tuesday”, and the truly amazing “Ordinary”. A song that examines the shallowness of Hollywood, and the ridiculous fascination that the world has with the town. Anna’s Brother is a modern rock band with great songs that actually have something to say. When most bands are pining to sound like the last big hit, Anna’s Brother steps out with a sound all their own and a CD full of hit songs
