Biography
As a musician, she is an individualist. The velvet can be seen in her tender compositions of the heart, and the steel in her hard driving performance of songs.
With her six string acoustic guitar and resonant voice, Ann encapsulates audiences with heart-felt songs on her CD. She shares with those listening, issues that hit home for many individuals. Ann has stated, “My heart opens as I take the risk and share it’s secrets with those listening”.
These same velvet and steel characteristics can be seen in her contrasting musical influences such as Johnny Cash and Melissa Ferrick. Ann relates to Cash and Ferrick in developing her own style of writing. With her own lyrics and vocal attributes, she captures the audience and places them in the moment.
Ann has been involved with several bands in Southwestern Wisconsin. However Ann has come to realize that in order to truly express herself, she needed to break through the secure shell of performing cover songs with bands, and strike out on her own.
Finally, Ann’s Velvet and Steel can be seen in her personal life as well. You may find her curled up on the couch with her dog Sammy listening to Leonard Cohen. Yet she may fly by you at speeds we can’t mention on her Harley that she built herself.

Classic Rock and Originals that coax you to want to join in on the fun. Often times we DO ask for audience participation in which making that connect always has them coming back to see us again. Our influences are many dating from the 70's - 90's and of course include some favorite women performers which when we perform, really are great for the women who come to see us.
