Bio
I have been a singer my entire life, and I continued with voice training through college. I wrote my first song when I was 8 and didn't write another until I was 30. After college, i went to law school. During my second year of law school I became a single mom, but was still able to complete law school in the minimum 3 years. Outside of singing to my daughter and her baby friends, any thoughts I had of performing publicly were swept under the carpet so that I could focus on being a good mom. Instead of studying for the bar exam, I got a job, but then I faced what many Americans are facing these days: a lay off. The day I was laid off in December 2008, was one of those "meant to be" moments. After the initial freak out, I woke up the next day and realized that I would once again have time to sing. I dusted off my guitar, and started writing songs in March 2009. Songwriting proved to be very cathartic. I started performing at Open Mics in July 2009. The next thing I knew I was booking gigs in Chicago and heading down to Nashville to perform at Writer's Nights and even co-writing songs with other musicians. The past year has been quite a whirlwind, to say the least, but wow, it has really been the best year of my life so far.
