Anne Castellano and the Smoke

The band was formed in December 2011 by Anne Castellano, who had been playing solo (electric guitar and drum machine) in the New London, CT area for the last 5 years. Brother Tony Castellano (talented multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and vocalist) agreed to play drums, transplanted Brit Vince Tuckwood (also a singer/songwriter and published author) joined on lead guitar, and goth musician Dorian James (who also sings and plays in his own bands Anodyne X and November Party) was added on bass. The band made their live debut at the Good Sponge CD release show at the Eugene O'Neill Theater in Waterford, playing 4 songs in front of a packed, appreciative house. Their next gig was the huge Daffodil Festival in Meriden, five months after their first rehearsal. They have been playing shows in the New London and New Haven, CT areas for about a year. The band has gotten great reviews and are looking forward to many more live shows. They are currently in the studio recording their first full-length CD.
