Bio

Anne-Lise Dugas (pronounced Ann-Lize Du-ga) grew up composing music, singing and playing the piano. Mainly listening to, writing, and playing classical music, she was surrounded by the work of archaic composers whose music has stood the test of time. It's essence stayed with her when she strayed from her classical roots and picked up the guitar at age 12, greatly inspired by artists such as Nirvana, Radiohead, and Massive Attack. Seeking to create music that is original and powerful, Anne-Lise Dugas crosses genres of folk, rock, and jazz with incredible versatility, while creating an original sound and unique identity for herself as an artist.

"Heart Souldiers is my journey of finding myself," Anne-Lise Dugas explains about on the 10-song demo-album which is as packed with music as her high-school years were with rebellion, adventure, friendship, hardship and realization. The death of her mother at a young age was an event that truly shaped Anne-Lise's life, and her work as an artist. Coming to terms with this and using music as a tool to heal, and discover the beauty of life is what makes this album so moving. Anne-Lise Dugas extends this music to everyone, to open our heart's just a little bit more, and touch our soul.
