Annie Bunten

Annie grew up an average girl from the 'burbs with a more than active fascination for all things music. She began singing along to Sam Cooke and Patsy Cline by memory, crooning about love and loss before she was tall enough to see over the dashboard on long car rides with her mom. She is self taught on the guitar and piano and worked on these instruments voraciously when she should have been sleeping in high school. Annie grabbed every opportunity she could to sing. She starred in high school and community theater musicals, sang the soprano leads in operettas and was a choir girl. She began living, loving and losing early into her teen years and wrote about her experience constantly. She found her voice in four line stanzas that told the story of a precocious teenager with her heart on her sleeve and eyes on the horizon. Travel far and love deep are two themes that weave themselves in and around her music as she transitioned into adulthood. Annie has written an arsenal of original "vampy" soul tunes and ballads. Her folk roots are never far from her simple yet emotive chord progression. She sings her brainchildren with passion and conviction, sensitivity and honesty with a voice that soars right into the minds and hearts of her audience.
