Annie Dru

I am a forty-five year old mother of four who wrote her first song at age 39. With the encouragement and assistance of many local musician friends, I have... traveled to Nashville on several pilgrimages, had a brief single song publishing contract with a prominent Music Row publishing company, recorded two solo albums, survived a two year publishing deal on the west coast, and most recently recorded and performed as part of a harmonizing duo called The Flimz to rave reviews and my first real experience with fans! The music I have submitted for this contest is best described as Americana, and I recorded it in a few hours in my living room with my friend Alex on lead guitar, and my husband at the Pro Tools controls. I have been most influenced by the struggles inherent in attempting to be a conscious human being; music has kept a smile on my face through it all.
