"Inner Revolution"

"Wow. Apparently Ms. Quick decided it was time for inner-revolution, and the weapons of choice for this former pop-folkie are cathartically loud guitars. Let Liz Phair go make pop records with the Matrix. Get
this instead." - ~Big Takeover

"Meaning"

"Bigger is the first record in a long time that might actually mean something outside of its own frame of reference." - ~All Music Guide

"Musical Catharsis"

"Annie Quick ... expresses herself as one of the stronger examples of musical catharsis to come along in many a moon." - ~ Modern Rock

"Rock Goddess"

"Not since the days when Debbie Harry led "Blondie" across the stage
of CBGB's has a New York artist deserved the title of rock goddess." - ~Phantom Tollbooth

"Testosterone"

"Far from just competing in a testosterone-driven art form, Quick shows she can stand on her own." - ~Columbia Tribune

"Apocalypse Now"

"With the apocalypse around the corner and the heart on the old sleeve, it sounds like this girl doesn't mind singing about wanting to change the world and getting some good action before it's all over." - ~Real Detroit Weekly

"Prove It"

"When you find yourself thinking that all new music sucks, this will prove you wrong." - ~The State News, Lansing, MI

"For God's Sake"

"For God's sake, don't bother to forget that she's a woman. Just try to remember that she kicked your ass." - ~Detroit Metro Times

Bio

Annie Quick is an eclectic combination of stand-alone melodies over a bed of thick, cathartically loud guitars.

Quick began her musical career as an acoustic guitar player in Northern California, but she immediately discovered Rock after she moved to NYC and suffered a back injury. This began her to search for a smaller bodied guitar. "Originally my draw to the SG (she has a vintage 1972) was it's smaller body size and it's lightness, which was good for my back. But that guitar became my friend and I was immediately glad I got hurt. In some ways everything began then."

"I like to write lullaby-like melodies that have a darker, more urgent delivery--something you can sing to yourself, but also listen to when you want your ass kicked."

Quick is also involved in other nefarious plots, including The Half Pints, an ill-fated TV Pilot that featured Quick's alter ego, a Prairie Heavy Metal guitarist (http://www.tvland.com/video/index.jhtml?bcpid=192878568&bclid=924201193&bctid=186644560), and Anemone (www.myspace.com/anemonevoices), a strange, all women voices-only band who appear at her shows.

Quick made a movie to be released concurrently with her new album Souvenirs and Shiny Things. The movie is a fairly tale about magical people who live in Central Park, with soundtrack provided by the album. She's taking it all on the road in Late Spring 2008, along with an indoor Central Park installation complete with picnics on the Great Lawn and an enchanted North Woods where the trees are full of fruit and gifts for the concertgoer.

AQ's third album "Souvenirs" is set for release in
2008.
