Annie Shaw

See, she invites you for a trip in her snow globe, Annie Shaw, in a world all her own. This snow globe scene, although serene, encompasses the roller coaster action of passion, ingenuity, and olde time, ragtime, jazz time, good times blues. While studying jazz piano at McGill University in Montreal, Ms. Shaw brought her good stuff around town, but it's in her hometown of Hamilton Ontario that she's settled to learn to play the computer. Her carefully designed instrument is an abelton-based sampler/looper/effects processor into which she sings. In this way, sweet part-songs, mad voices and improvised luminous harmonies burst forth prism-like to the amazement of snowglobed showlookers.
Lady Annie's early EP the Hits from Hell is a wonderful testament to her piano chops and friendly song writing. An a capella sample based album is forthcoming.
