"Ann Leung releases new Single "Jevolo" While Penning her Upcoming Album"

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ WiFi-PR Group) When you're looking for music to soothe or uplift, Ann Leung has the mellow, emotive tunes to transport you to another place. She employs a classical finger-picking guitar style to create soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics that evoke her passions for connection, healing and a world of peace. Having performed with two other groups and released three solo singles to date, including her most recent, "Jevolo," Ann is now working feverishly on her debut album and awaiting her track "Mia's Song" to be featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 5.

In addition to being a solo guitarist and vocalist, Ann is also a member of two bands: Diddly Squat, an all-female cover band of artists from the 50s through 80s, including a mix of rock 'n' roll, folk, blues and country, and G'day China, a duo with her partner Chris Hall. Diddly Squat was the product of a jam session among friends that provided a safe place for each member to grow, learn and write and perform songs, and Ann notes, "We called ourselves 'Diddly Squat' because we knew diddly squat. The personal development has been huge."

In 2013, Diddly Squat were finalists in ABC's Exhumed, a national competition for amateur bands. They were selected as one of six finalists out of 1400 bands and embarked on "the biggest joyride," being featured in a five-part TV series that culminated in a live performance in Sydney in December 2013, where they performed in front of over 500 live audience members and more than a million TV viewers.

Ann has self-published and released several singles to date, including "Mia's Song," (August 2012) "Sky Meets Land" (2012) and her most recent, "Jevolo" in February 2014, which was co-written with world-renowned musician Michael Fix and features vocals by Nadia Sunde. She is currently completing recordings for a debut album to be released sometime in the near future.

Ann Leung will join a host of other international talent spanning a variety of genres when her track "Mia's Song" is featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 5, set to be released at Coachella in April 2014. The digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more copies will be made available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp website.

If you'd like to see Ann Leung perform live, you can catch her performing with Diddly Squat at Launch It! Surfers Paradise Festival in Gold Coast, Australia, on April 6th & on Mother's Day, May 11th in Brisbane at the Sherwood AFL Club.

You can find Ann's music on digital distribution sites like CD Baby, iTunes and Amazon. Physical copies are available at any of her live performances or by contacting her directly. Head over to Ann's website, where you can enjoy a free song download. She says that it will "soothe and relax you while meditating, hosting a dinner party, or washing the dishes!"

You can also check out videos on Ann's website, including videos for "Mia's Song," "Breathe" and more. Diddly Squat's entry into the ABC Exhumed 2013 Competition and other videos are also on her YouTube channel.

"Neighbours Unite for Rocking Show"

ANDY Dickson and Ann Leung may have shared a fence for more than 15 years but it was only in the past year the Enoggera neighbours realised they were both good musicians.
Mr Dickson, guitarist and singer-songwriter for award-winning New Zealand band The Narcs, said he was delighted to learn his buddy on the street was a member of upand-coming all-female folk rock band Diddly Squat.
“We didn’t realise (our musical connection) until I saw Diddly Squat on ABC’s (music show) Ex
humed program,” Mr Dickson said. He said he was impressed by the band’s strong vocal harmonies and interpretations of classic songs.
“They are still new to (music) and they’ve got this kind of freshness,” he said.
Mr Dickson is now a member of Across the Ditch, a band specialising in Australian and New Zealand rock from the Easybeats to Goanna and INXS. The bands will hold their third joint show at the Alderley Arms on November 8, from 8pm. It’s free. - North West News
