Annunaqui featuring Mello Groove

BandHip HopSpoken Word

Hip Hop and Neo Soul come together seasoned with that southern flavor to form a musical dish of freedom, justice and equality for all.

Biography

Annunaqui is comprised of two Columbia, SC natives,
Jimmie"Kassif"Williams Jr. and Timothy"EZ"Williams. The two Columbia
natives began their MC careers about 10 years ago, and over the past
five years have devouted all their time and efforts to mastering the
art
of MC’ing. Kassif and EZ were joined by the Most High’s divine
ordinance in their younger years at W.J. Keenan High School. The
members
of Annunaqui are former members of the local well known group Da
Underground Movement. Annunaqui is also accompanied by the live band
Mello Groove. Mello Groove is a retro neo-soul band that originated in
Rockhill, SC. The core members of the band met and began playing
together at Winthrop University. Mello Groove encompasses a sound of
jazz/blues fused with hip-hop and soul.
The meaning of Annunaqui is "those who embody the power of the Most
High" and the Hebrew translation means "walking angels". These two
brothers have re-introduced the Hip-Hop scene to what they like to call
"Street Gospel". They have taken on the responsibility of moving
Hip-Hop
to the next level by combining explosive music production with
forthright messages of freedom, justice and equality for all. The
lyrical content is basic enough for the average listener and deep
enough
for the above average lyrical analyst. Annunaqui’s music is designed
for everyone to get a little of what they’re searching for.
Annunaqui has recently completed their debut album entitled Street
Gospel.
The album is presently scheduled to be released at the beginning of the
Street Gospel Tour... Annu Way of Thinking in March 2007.
