Anshin 22 years old born in Paarl near Cape Town, South Africa. For as long as she can remember, she has always wanted to sing. She sang in her school choir. She has sung in a gospel group. Now, she is one of the most exciting, fresh new talents to emerge in years. As she says, “My only prayer as a child was to have a great voice and to be a good singer.” When you hear Anshin sing you’ll know that she is a great singer. Her voice speaks to more than ears – it speaks to your heart and soul.

Her strong, silken voice reveals the broad kaleidoscope of human feelings. “In my most troubled days I would sing songs I love and I would always find peace, and stay focused.”

She has a rare vocal power and range. Anshin is ambitious and confident that she has what it takes to be successful.
Passionate with a hint of classic soulfulness, and a nod to Sade, delivered in contemporary urban earthiness. Anshin’s music has a special resonance with her audience. Her songs are well crafted and sophisticated with emotional depth bluntly examining family, relationship and personal growth. Her music is sexy, sassy and sensuous.

Anshin is very clear about the important role that singing has for her. “Music is, and always will be, a big part of my life.” She credits her late paternal grandmother as her first inspiration, “She loved singing and music as much as I do.” Other influences include noted power singers Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Destiny’s Child. Her own recent writing reflects all these sources. Anshin says, “I am very open to all types of music. I listen to
rock, pop, r&b, hip-hop, and gospel. All of these reference points are reflected in Anshin’s music. Her destiny is to be the first true South African Queen of POP & R&B that appeals to all audiences!

Anshin is generating a lot of excitement, and developing a strong following in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, and beyond. She is in great demand from local colleges and commercial radio stations. She is the subject of online chat-rooms. Rappers want to record with her. One Massachusetts music critic described her as “reminiscent of Anita Baker at her best.” Moreover, he said that her songs are”top-flight material that would be comfortably at home on the Billboard charts.”

Craig Derry vocal coach & trainer to celebrities such as Marc Anthony, Mary J Blidge, Alicia Keys, Ashanti & Etta James, was Interviewed and is quoted as saying.”Anshin is a lovely young lady who would come from half across the world to bless us with her talent. He goes on to say “Anshin’s voice is a healing, an intern to the music world. Craig Derry says it is an appreciation especially when you have a student/artist who devotes her time as discipline as Anshin and he is thankful for her. More importantly Craig says”Anshin is spreading her studioness, Craig ends it with saying, there will come a day when the only time I see Anshin will be on television and in sold out concerts and that is a great thing!
Anshin is radiant in live performance. She opens an audience always petal by petal as Spring opens (touching skillfully, mysteriously) her first rose. She inhabits every song she sings. She makes extensive use of exciting dance routines performed by professional dancers. She performed to more than 2,000 people at the Bridgeport Beach Fest, July 19 & 20 in Bridgeport, CT.
